Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a powerful, evidence-based therapy designed to help individuals heal from trauma, distressing memories, and emotional challenges. At Recover The True You, I use EMDR to guide you through a transformative healing process, allowing you to move forward with confidence and resilience.

What is EMDR?

 EMDR therapy helps the brain reprocess traumatic memories  

& any information that becomes "stuck" in the nervous system, so they no longer feel overwhelming or disruptive. Through structured sessions involving bilateral stimulation (eye movements, sounds, or taps), EMDR assists in reducing the emotional intensity tied to past experiences & present stresses.


Attachment-Focused EMDR (AF-EMDR) is a therapeutic approach that addresses trauma, including that stemming from early childhood abuse and neglect. I use this method to help restore a strong foundation and sense of self, ultimately leading to healthier relationships with oneself and others. AF-EMDR emphasizes a client-centered, reparative approach that recognizes the uniqueness of each individual, treating the whole person!


This therapy doesn’t require you to talk extensively about the trauma, making it particularly helpful for those who find it difficult to verbalize their experiences.
