EMDR - Eye Movemeng Desesititation & Reprocessing is ideal for those who find it difficult to verbalize their feelings. EMDR uses Bilateral tapping to elicit eye movements in various ways to help reprocess "stuck information" in the Brain, such as various forms of trauma. EMDR, unlike other therapies, doesn't require you to talk extensively, making it particularly helpful for traumatic memories, disturbing events, or information that you couldn't process in the past or present! This is neuroscientific psychotherapy! We store memory and energy in our Brain & body. By helping to reprocess this information, EMDR allows memories to be moved in our Brain and integrated. Symptoms become less overwhelming and disruptive in your life, reducing their emotional intensity or disappearing completely! Additionally, as you integrate information, you will access more of your inner-wisdom & intuition thats always been there but often gets buried under symptoms , trauma & social conditioning.
Attachment-Focused EMDR (AF-EMDR) is a therapeutic approach that focuses explicitly on how we relate to ourselves & the world—reprocessing memories, often from trauma, neglect, and abuse stemming from early childhood to the present. This method explores your early caregivers and relationships to help you rebuild, rewire, and repair unhealthy relationship patterns that have developed with others and with yourself!
Resourcing with EMDR -A significant part of EMDR is to resource you! We access and build your strengths and positive emotions. We do this before deeper stages of EMDR & throughout your process. This is a way to strengthen good memories & positive emotions. Trauma can often dampen & disrupt neural pathways for positive emotions. Resourcing strengthens those networks, helping one feel safer, secure & confident!
